Our family has over 100 years experience in hunting upland gamebirds. We know what great cover the hunter and the bird are looking for. We welcome friends and family to get together at our Preserve and enjoy themselves to our fullest ability. We understand what the Pheasant hunting preserve offering hunts from 1 individual to corporate hunts and dog training available (limited to trainers availability). Our club does not charge membership fees and we charge for the number of birds released. We have fields that range from 35 acres to 640 acres with a total acreage of around 3500 acres. Our fields consist of wheat stuble, CRP, bottom ground with thickets, and much more. One thing that separates us from others is the experience of not sharing fields with others, we have enough ground to have all hunters in a private area with not being crowded. I know what good pheasant habitat is and I am proud to have the properties to share with fellow pheasant hunters. Ive been in business for 15 years and have hunted pheasant since I could legally hunter is lacking and that is trying to find a great place to hunt in today's world of leased and hard to find prime hunting ground.

Our upland bird hunts are not staged in farm field stubble, but in wild land. Choose from creek bottoms, overgrown prairie, thick drainage slews, and brushy pastures. The vastness of our land and the diversity of our terrain allow us to replicate true wild bird hunts, creating a unique and memorable experience. Great Guns can accommodate any group size and any amount of birds. Hunts are 1/2 day starting at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. any day of the week by appointment. You will be hunting on the majestic confluence of the East and West Bijou Creeks. The cover is native Colorado grassland, dry creek bottoms, and mature cottonwoods. Pheasants and Bob White Quail are native to this part of Colorado and thanks to aggressive land management and very careful species management we have successful hatches year after year. We also manage and sustain populations of Chukar and Hungarian Partridge.

The wing shooting program at The High Lonesome Ranch is also Orvis Endorsed. Hunt five species of birds in the tens of thousands of acres of pristine upland coverts. Anticipate rising birds that range from the wily pheasant to the covey-oriented chukar and Hungarian partridge. Two species of quail inhabit the property as well – Scaled and Gambel’s – and enthusiasts have an opportunity to hunt our wide variety of hard-flying game birds every day.

Valhalla-Bijou Hunt Club offers 2 hour and 4 hour hunt packages, with a variety of cover. Choose between four different realistic hunting areas, each with their own set of challenges. We have a wooded creek bottom with native grass cover, willows, and a pond. Our other hunting areas are wide open native grass that includes sections of CRP type cover. Morning hunts start at 8:00 and our afternoon hunts start at 1:00. All hunters are required to wear hunter orange in the field, and proper hunting attire.
